Baguio City, February 23, 2025 – The University of Baguio’s School of Nursing, in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association – Baguio City Chapter, played a vital role in ensuring the safety of participants and spectators at this year’s Panagbenga Festival parade.
BSN IV students, alongside two faculty members, joined forces with professional nurses to form a dedicated first aid team. With thousands of visitors flocking to the grand parade, the team was strategically stationed along the parade route, ready to respond to medical concerns such as dehydration, heat exhaustion, and minor injuries.
This initiative provided nursing students with a valuable hands-on learning experience, allowing them to apply their clinical skills in a real-world setting. By working alongside experienced professionals, they gained practical exposure to emergency response and community healthcare, reinforcing their role as future healthcare providers. Their participation not only enhanced their training but also underscored their commitment to public service and community well-being.
The collaboration highlighted the dedication of both nursing students and professionals in ensuring public safety. Their presence provided festival-goers with peace of mind, ensuring a safe and enjoyable celebration of Baguio’s beloved flower festival. As Panagbenga 2025 continues, the nursing community remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard the health and well-being of residents and visitors alike.
